All this on 60 bucks… love those penquins! Sure nice to leave Vegas with more than you came with!!
Missed this on the way out (going north, exit at Bluff St. and go east… it becomes East Riverside Dr). No traveler facilities here, but there’s a Costco’s a bit further north (exit at Greensprings Drive and go east; it’ll be about 3 blocks down on the right). Interesting in that the St. George Costco has some self-checkout lines (good for shoppers with a few items). Should have got a few pics of that. Wonder when they’ll hit California?
Same price as the Questar in Hurricane, $1.49/gge*. Fill-up took only 2.962 g ($4.40); it was only 1/2 hr from St. George to the Kolob Canyons.
*gge = gasoline gallon equivalent (the amount of alternative fuel it takes to equal the energy content of one liquid gallon of gasoline)

Chevron station in Hurricane off SR-9
Topped off here before heading on to Zion’s Kolob Canyons. Cost was $1.49/gge* (took 6.505g from Vegas) for a total of $9.67.

OK, the drive’s back on-line. Now I’ll try to work around the cat tail flopping in my face. Here’s some pics from my recent one day outing (20 Sep) from Vegas.
Found the Clean Energy CNG station on Losee Road in North Las Vegas. It’s located at a Sinclair facility.
Should have gotten closer shots (can’t tell from the photo if both 3000 and 3600 psi are available).
I filled with the 3600 so I know that’s available and works. Cost was $2.60/gge* (took 3.971g to fill at a cost of $10.32; previous fillup was at Victorville on the way out to Vegas). There’s a McDonald’s next door which is very convenient… got breakfast there before hitting the road to Utah.

OK… I gotta learn how to blog, so I’ll use some pics from a trip last month that Gary and I took to Vegas to experiment with.I should have gotten pics of us with Brian and his girlfriend, Melissa, at dinner (we went to Joe’s Crabshack), but I was more concerned about us not catching his cold at the time (didn’t matter… we caught it anyways).
So as I sit here sniffling and coughing, hoping to get over this before our trip this weekend to Lake Tahoe, I figured I see how well this stuff comes out on-line. We arrived Thursday, and I took off Friday morning, determined to get a hike in. Also figured I get some info on the CNG stations I hadn’t visited before.
OK… got all my pics off the iPhone 3 onto my external hard drive. Now my laptop’s not talking to the hard drive. I think the cat walked on the keyboard while I took a break. Had to power down and restart, but it still doesn’t work. Wonderful IT problems. We’ll just shut everything off and try again later.
